I had the great pleasure of knowing Father Jim many years ago when I lived in New Jersey. I was planning on trying to contact him to say hello and catch up on an upcoming visit to NJ over Christmas.
I was heartbroken when I saw that Father had passed at such a young age. He was truly a great shepherd to all, with a kind and gentle heart. He will be missed by everyone whom was blessed to know him.
God Bless Father ......

He was such a huge positive force to every single person he encountered at St. John Neumann in Sickerville and just an absolutely amazing special spirit. I remember visiting his old stomping ground in Olean near St. Bonaventure and the place lighting up with smiles and stories when I mentioned his name. I've never met anyone like him since and will never forget him.

I was saddened to read of the loss of your loved one.
When we lose our loved one in death it is the most difficult
time in our life. However, there is loving
comfort in Psalms 55:22 to “throw your burden on God
and he will sustain you..” Yes, no matter what you are facing
God is there to help you get through it. May you continue to
have the love and support from family and friends. I sincerely
hope that this Bible message brings you
a measure of comfort during this difficult time.

So sorry for the loss of a good friend and priest. I went to
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with Father Jim and Father Michael. Then
we reconnected again when he became the Pastor at my Church in
Margate. He was a good friend to me and helped me through my
Dad's illness. He will be missed!

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Father James Rush Family. I Lived in Gibbsboro in the sixties and was an altar boy from 1964 to 1968 at St Andrews. The Rush Family was the Rock of Faith in that little town. The three Rush brother Priests will always be rememered for.their kindness-compassion-character in my eyes. Later in life Father James was my Pastor at St John Neumann in Sicklerville NJ. We became very good friends and my memories always put a smile on my face. Thank you to entire Rush Family for all you did and meant to all of us. Rest in Peace Father James until the day we meet again in Heaven- Love Always The Berenato Family

The news of your passing is a time of sadness for me, but it also triggers fond memories. I hope these bring a smile, Jim: Christmas wreaths, Howie at SS Pennock, "The Crocodile", model planes on the ice at midnight. Farewell my friend, from Jim Hale, "the-kid-across-the-street".

Father Jim was a good man and a fine priest. He was a close friend of my family and my heart aches because of his passing. My sympathy to his family, and I am glad I knew him. My own life was better because of it. He was smart, dedicated, good sense of humour, and someone a person could trust. See you again sometime, Father Jim!
