Obituary of Reverend David E. Beebe

Reverend David E. Beebe, a Priest of the Camden Diocese slipped peacefully into God's loving arms at Samaritan Hospice IPU Mt. Holly on March 2, 2016, at the age of 81. Beloved son of the late Fred E. and the late Stella (nee Crowley) Beebe. Devoted brother of Drusillla Burghard of San Angelo , TX, and Terry and his wife Peggy Beebe of Leesburg, FL, the late Albert Beebe and the late Corinne Taylor. Also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Fr. Dave was born February 7, 1935 in Hartford, CT. Dave's family moved to the northeast area of Philadelphia. He was a proud alumnus of Northeast Catholic H. S., La Salle University and St. Mary's Seminary and University. Ordained May 27, 1961 in Camden by Archbishop Celestine J. Damiano. His Priestly assignments started in June, 1961 at O.L. of Mt. Carmel, Camden and continued throughout the Diocese for 44 years at many So. Jersey parishes including being made Pastor of Holy Rosary, Ashland from 1985 to 1991. He was a math and religion teacher at both Gloucester Catholic and Camden Catholic High Schools from 1962 to 1967. Fr. Dave held many posts in the Diocese including Director of Religious Education, a lifetime member of the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership holding the positions of Treasurer and Executive Director, Served on the Priest Personal Board, the Presbyteral Council, Executive Director of the Diocesan Synod and later as Director of St. Pius X Spiritual Life Center, Blackwood and Spiritual Director of So. Jersey Cursillo Movement. He was the Campus Minister at both Glassboro State College (Rowan University) and LaSalle University before retiring in 2005. Reception of his body will take place Wednesday (3/9) 6 PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ, where his viewing will be held from 6:30 to 9 PM that evening. A second viewing will be held on Thursday (3/10) from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Church followed by celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
