Obituary of Vincent Chillemi
Vincent Chillemi, of Berlin, slipped into God's loving arms and was reunited with his wife Rita and his children Sandra and Christopher, on June 6, 2015, at Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit of Virtua, Mt. Holly at age 91.
Beloved husband of the late Rita D. (nee Farina) Chillemi. Devoted father of the late Sandra Lee Chillemi and the late Christopher Vincent Chillemi. Loving uncle of Geraldine H. and her husband Richard Lewis and Maria R. and her husband the late James O'Brien. Dear friend of Stephanie and Dave Blantz, all of Berlin. Also survived by his sister Mary and her husband Joe Laphan of Haddonfield and several other nieces and nephews.
Vincent was born, raised and lived his whole life in Berlin. He served his Country in the Navy during W. W. II. He worked as a machinist at both N.Y. Shipyard, Camden and the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Vincent was an avid gardener who enjoyed raising gladioli, fruit and vegetables in his garden. He liked tinkering with all kinds of machinery and supported the Phillies and the Eagles during their good and bad seasons. Even with all his physical problems, Vincent was always ready to help his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday (6/11/15), 10 to 11AM at St. Simon Stock Parish/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike at Franklin Ave, Berlin, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cem., Berlin. Vincent's family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
