Obituary of Rudolph Rogers, Sr.
Rudolph "Rudy" Rogers, Sr., (86) passed away at his home in Berlin, on April 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family from pneumonia and old age. He was the ninth of ten children born to Italian immigrants Giovanni di Ruggiero (a.k.a. John Rogers) and Philomena "Fannie" (nee Cecere), in Camden, NJ. He and his loving wife of 64 years, the former Kathryn Vivian (nee Trewin), raised ten children, who survive him: Mary Ann Russell (Norman), Joan Wegryzniak (James), John Rogers (Cheryln), Rudolph Rogers, Jr. (Cassandra), Michael Rogers, Theresa Rogers, Kathryn Rogers, Rosemary Benavitz (William), Joseph Rogers (Martha), and Karen Rogers Lee (Kevin). Rudy is the loving and proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Albert Rogers and William Rogers, and many nieces and nephews.
Rudy spent most of his working life in roofing and siding with his brother-in-law, Earl Trewin, Jr. In retirement, family and church were very important to him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and visitation with his family on Tuesday (4/28), 9:30 to 11:15 AM at St. Simon Stock Parish/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike at Franklin Ave, Berlin, NJ, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM at the Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cem., Berlin, NJ. Rudy's family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, 157 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009 or Mass Cards would be appreciated by the family.
