Words do not fulfill what this beautiful lady meant to me.
I was blessed to be your daughte-in-law for 46 years and I will cherish all the memories we have had as a family until the day I join you in heaven.
As you would tell me all the time "you are the best..love you girl"
Well you are the best Mom..Nan...Aunt..sister anyone could ever have had. Your priceless laugh will live on in my heart along with all the love you gave to me.
As hard as it was to say goodbye, I know you are at peace now and with Pop dancing in heaven.
Love and will miss you forever Mom.
Rest in peace and God Bless.

Dear Lord Jesus,
By your grace, I ask for the strength to move on and appreciate a peaceful passing of a beloved aunt whose smile and honest zeal for love and your guidance was as genuine, generous, and as welcome as sunshine. Her namesake is a promise of the resurrection and a better existence with you, but I ask for strength in getting through the pain of her absence here on earth as those who knew her strive to endure. I have faith that you never give us more than we can bear, but in this pestilence, the loss of her spouse, my uncle, my father, cousin, and our family's ongoing journey with an uncle who struggles with the same Alzheimer's that embarrassed her, reminded us of her coming departure, and tried all of our patience, I humbly ask for your ongoing wisdom and support. I take comfort in knowing I hear her laughter in heaven with my Dad Jack, her husband John Dougherty, our Nan Marjorie Belle Turner, sister, "Marge" Graziani, and her relief in seeing her Michaels, and infant Kerry, all in your warm embrace for eternity! Our time together, and with our "new" church family at Wesley United, final days with her sister in law, Florence, Aunt Cheryl, Betsy Simpson (nee Moxford), Cousin Christian, Kelly and kids, and dinners at Cousin Jacqueline's house were all blessed in her last days! When Debra Grace's D & J Deli re-opens, we will all toast her with our hot beverages raised high!
AMEN & Hallelujah for the Loving Life of My Beloved Aunt Lillian "Lilly" Iris Dougherty (nee Turner)

Aunt Lil and I used to walk to Sunday Mass at OLMC (now St Simon Stock). We would set the altar up and take our seats. She used to talk about growing up and we would remember the Breaker View. She always had a smile on her face. I know she is with God and smiling down on all of us. You didn't have to be related by blood...You were related by love...May the road rise up to meet you, May wind be always at your back; Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hands...Love you Aunt Lil...xo

She is already missed at Wesley United Methodist Church! The Wednesday night bible study before she went to the hospital, she read scripture out loud beautifully! She told us how she did not worry and gave things to God! There is no doubt that she believed in Jesus and God. She told us that Jesus was her Savior. So, we know that she is in Heaven smiling and laughing the way she did with us at church. We enjoyed eating dinner with her on Wednesday nights. She always make us laugh and smile! We all cried when we heard she died but, so did Jesus when his friend, Lazarus died. The shortest verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept." We are human and it's ok to cry over loosing a person. But we have the assurance that she is in heaven because she told us that she believed that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We were blessed to have her with us and we will see her again in heaven.
