Jeanne Dumesle was born January 16,1927. She grew up in Cayes, Haiti. Eventually she moved to Port-Au-Prince (Haiti ‘s Capital) in search of opportunities to help her kids. Once in the Capital She did a few different jobs here and there. Through her political connections she finally landed a good Job as a Hospital Worker at the General Hospital. Twice during her tenure at the Hospital, she was honored to be part of a delegation that presented flowers to the Haitian’s President at that time. She retired from the Hospital after twenty-four years of service.
With the desire to still pursue bigger things and dreams, she migrated to the US in 1981. She lived in Essex County for several years before moving to Sicklerville NJ 20 years ago. She was fortunate to be invited to the First Haitian Baptist Church of Williamstown. There, she became a member and found a new extended family in Christ. She was baptized in 2012. She rarely missed the Sunday service until the past twelve-eighteen months as she became physically ill. She was amazed and was very grateful of God’s favor allowing her at her age to still have the ability to maintain a good quality of life. She would often remind all of us of GOD’s favor to her.
She was a woman of great Strength, great Character and great Love. She enjoyed watching political news, traveling on vacation with her children and kids and grandchildren. Her favorite movie of all times was Coming to America. For me she will always be Mom, the Classy lady and the best listener I have always had on my side. Mom, you will forever be missed.
