Obituary of Kathryn V. Rogers
Kathryn Vivian Rogers (nee Trewin), age 90, formerly of Berlin, passed away at Greenfield Senior Living Community, Glassboro, New Jersey, on September 23, 2019 from Alzheimer’s Disease and old age. She was the oldest of four children born to William C. Trewin and Philomena “Fannie” (nee Palese), in Camden, NJ. Her beloved husband of 64 years, Rudolph "Rudy" Rogers, predeceased her in April 2015.
Kathryn’s ten children survive her: Mary Ann Russell (Norman), Joan Wegryzniak (James), John Rogers (Cherlyn), Rudolph Rogers, Jr. (Cassandra), Michael Rogers, Theresa Rogers, Kathryn Rogers, Rosemary Benavitz (William), Joseph Rogers (Martha), and Karen Rogers Lee (Kevin).
Kathryn was the treasured grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, dear sister of Mary Anne Kingkiner, Earl Trewin and the late William Trewin (1933-2016), and step-sister of the late Anna Marie Koczan (1919-1974) and Angelo DiPilla (1920-1960), and many nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew Kathryn knows that family and God were most important to her. She delighted in her children, then her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Mass every day. She and Rudy enjoyed getting together with siblings for low stakes card games. Kathryn loved family gatherings, and no dish went unwashed, no kitchen not cleaned, if she were around. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing and visitation on Thursday, September 26, from 9:30 to 11:15 AM at St. Simon Stock Parish/ Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike at Franklin Ave, Berlin, NJ where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, New Jersey.
Kathryn’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Kathryn’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), or Mass Cards would be appreciated.
