Brian J Smegal

Brian J. Smegal, 61, of Maple Shade, passed peacefully surrounded by wife and daughters on January 18, 2021. Beloved husband of 40 yrs. of Kimberlee (Cramp); Devoted father of Shannon Cantrell (Colin) of Cherry Hill and Ashlee Smegal (Matthew) of Barrington. Treasured Poppy of Dylan and Jadyn. Devoted brother of Linda, Dennis and Mark. He will be missed by his faithful dogs Khloee and Charlie.

 

Brian was an avid fisherman and devoted Elvis Presley fan. He cherished weekend drives with Kim to the shore just to sit by the bay and eat seafood.  Family Sunday dinners were a must. He loved spending the summers outdoors gardening and swimming in his pool with his grandchildren. Brian wore his heart on his sleeve and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Making memories with family and friends was how Brian lived his life.  

 

Brian was very knowledgeable and skilled carpenter and boiler operator.  He spent his entire career working for Watergate Condominiums. He was devastated when he finally had to say goodbye to his work family and life-long friends to focus on his health.  He enjoyed telling stories of his memories and life experiences to stay connected and feel like he was serving his purpose.

 

Although Brian was always willing to provide his assistance and advice, if you didn’t heed his advice he would say, “I don’t want to tell you what to do, but…

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Brian’s viewing from 11AM-12PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Giosa Funeral Home, 171 Haddon Avenue West Berlin, NJ 08091 where his funeral service will be held privately at 12PM. by Fr. Phillip Ramos, A.M. 

 

When you visit, due to CDC Guidelines and Health Department restrictions, we respectfully request that you limit your visit so that others may participate. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
