Patricia A. Agin

Patricia A. Agin (née Burke), passed away comfortably and peacefully on August 29, 2020 at Virtua Marlton Hospital, Evesham Township, New Jersey.

Born in South Philadelphia to Violet and William “Jesse” Burke, Patti was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School, where she excelled academically.  She worked to put herself through college while raising her children as a single mom and received an associate’s degree from Camden County College.  Patti had a passion for medicine and science.  She was meticulous in her work at Comprehensive Cancer and Hematology Specialists in Voorhees, where she was the laboratory manager for nearly 25 years.  She adored her work, friends and loved connecting with the patients.

An avid crafter, Patti enjoyed crocheting blankets for every new baby she learned about and crocheting hats as a form of social protest. She also collaborated with her grandson, Owen, in creating new feats of crocheting ingenuity including wizards and slime. Patti was a devoted friend and loved spending time with her girlfriends taking Zumba classes, going to the movies, and dancing the Carolina Shag.  Patti enjoyed quietly reading on her deck and tending to her garden, but also would never turn down a chance for an adventure whether it be an impromptu trip or a chance to go exploring in a local park.

By far, Patti’s greatest commitment was to her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  She was sincerely devoted to her children, Jessica and Harry, supporting them in all their endeavors.  Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, taking them for walks, reading her favorite books to them, and cooking them their favorite meals and treats.  Patti spent many nights hosting her grandchildren at “Camp Granny’s,” which was a ritual that everyone cherished.

Patti is survived by her children and their spouses Jessica (née Rowe) and Nathan Bivans of Cinnaminson, NJ and Harry and Sarah (neé Carr) Rowe of West Berlin, NJ; and four grandchildren, Gabriel, Owen, Grace, and Harry Jr.  She was sad that she did not get the opportunity to meet her newest grandchild, Baby Boy Rowe, who is expected in January.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Ellie Francis Rowe.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3 from 10:00am-11:00am.  Due to current global conditions, masks must be worn. Patti’s funeral services will be held September 3 at 11:00 by invitation only. The service will be live-streamed for anyone who wishes to attend virtually.
