On October 13, 2011, at his home in Gibbsboro, surrounded by his loving family at age 90.
Beloved husband of 45 years to Ruthann (nee Niemann). Devoted father of: Bradley A., Wade S. (Teri), Dawn E. (Tim) Bell, Wendy G. (Rob) Morrison and the late Lewis W. Loving grandfather of Christina, Josh, Robby, Katie and Sydney. Proud great grandfather of Wes. Dear brother of Loluia Lawson, Charlotte Jonas, Phill Compton, Lewis Compton, the late Blanche Crigger, the late Claude Compton, the late Clara George and the late Raymond Compton .
Phil was born in Nemours, W.V. He served his country as a Navy Pilot during WW II. He graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology as an Electrical Engineer and worked for 30 years for Rohm & Haas, retiring in 1984. He was an avid cyclist, senior reader at Gibbsboro Elem. School and a former Gibbsboro councilman. He was a hard working family man, who will be missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family this Friday 6:30 to 8 pm at Giosa Funeral Home, 171 Haddon Avenue, West Berlin, where his remembrance service will begin at 8 pm. Interment at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA, Oct. 29, 2011.
