| ![]() Maurone, Salvatore A. "Al " On November 18, 2009, at Virtua Health West Jersey Hosp. Voorhees age 83 years. Beloved husband of 50 years to Theresa E. (nee Kelly) formerly of Phila. Devoted father of Bernadette, Regina, Dennis, Celeste, Anita, Paul and Gregory. Loving grandfather of 17. Proud great grandfather of 9. Al was born and raised in South Phila. He was a Navy Veteran of W.W.II. He worked for a short time at The Philco Comp, in Phila. and Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pa before going to work as an electrician at the Phila. Naval Shipyard, where he spent 31 yrs before retiring. Al was a very knowledgeable and skilled mechanic who was able to build his own home and impart his talents to his sons and others. In his retirement he took automotive classes at Camden Co. College, was a frequent visitor to the Jewish Community Center, Cherry Hill and enjoyed being with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday from 8 to 9:30 pm. and again Monday from 9 to 10:45 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Rt. 561 & Kresson-Gibbsboro Rd., Gibbsboro, NJ., where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 am. Burial Brigader General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arneytown, NJ.
